FTSE 250 Construction Client
Divisional Finance Director
SectorInfrastructure
Warwickshire
The Brief
This was an executive assignment to source a replacement for the existing Divisional Finance Director (DFD) who, after eight years with the business, was moving on. Being one of the biggest divisions this was a high profile appointment for the group and to replace a very established and experienced DFD. The role had a direct reporting line to the Managing Director and a functional reporting line to the Group Chief Financial Officer.
As Finance Director of Infrastructure, they would be expected to implement a progressive finance strategy, to support the delivery of great results for the division. Time was of the essence on this campaign, since the incumbent had already resigned, however, not at the risk of jeopardising the quality of their successor. They were seeking an exceptional candidate. The brief included sourcing an experienced Commercial Finance Director, with industry experience and ideally within a commutable distance from the headquarters, in Warwickshire.
The Pitch
This was a competitive pitch, against two established, London based Search firms. We were able to demonstrate our track record within the sector, as well as the strength of our network locally and our capability to deliver on a timely basis, which was almost half the timeframe indicated by others. We were successfully appointed and retained to source their DFD.
The Process
The Outcome
The Divisional Finance Director for Construction and Infrastructure successfully started January (2021) 4 months after commencement of the campaign. We maintained regular contact with the candidate between offer and start date, and we maintain ongoing contact with both the candidate and client.
