The successful applicant to the Procurement Manager role will be working for one of the UK’s leading privately owned organisations with an unrivalled employer brand as a great place to work and a loyal customer base. This is a hybrid position with periodic travel to Central London.
In this newly created role, the successful candidate will take ownership for all Procurement activities for a stand alone division within the wider organisation, with a major focus on IT and tech-related projects. The role will further participate in the post-contract management of suppliers and the group-wide application of the vendor management policy.
Other key responsibilities include :
- Advising stakeholders on procurement processes to follow or owning the end-to-end procurement process in line with relevant policies.
- Enabling stakeholders to draft statements of requirements, and engaging vendors in a structured manner designed to ensure the best outcomes in terms of service quality and value for money.
- Proactively seeking and executing strategies for cost reduction and cost avoidance
- Managing contractual and commercial negotiations with vendors by building and managing cross-functional teams where required.
- Assisting the Group Procurement Director in advising group companies and managing compliance with the Group Procurement Policy.
- Managing the post-contract governance process for mid-range suppliers, and providing assistance to the Group Procurement Director where required in managing governance frameworks with strategic suppliers.
Key attributes of the successful candidate include :
- Demonstrable Procurement experience in a global business
- Experience of successfully conducting a range of negotiations across a range of procurement categories, especially IT and Tech
- An ability to assess and appreciate risk in procurement and vendor relationships, and the experience to proactively manage and mitigate risk
- Ability to manage RFx and present sourcing recommendations for approval at an Executive level
- Contract lifecycle management (including vendor management processes)
- Ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and an ability to influence.
- An understanding of FCA and SOx regulations would be an advantage.
- The ability to commute to Central London on a periodic basis.
