I am looking for an Interim Financial Controller for a 12-month fixed-term contract in the West Midlands. This hybrid role, requiring two days per week on-site, offers a unique opportunity to lead the financial operations across multiple manufacturing sites, driving both quality and efficiency improvements in financial control processes. This has the potential to convert into a permanent opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the timely and accurate delivery of month-end financial processes, ensuring compliance with group standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, ensuring all necessary documentation and financial information are provided promptly and accurately.
- Take ownership of financial controls, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and improving internal controls across the business.
- Spearhead initiatives to improve the month-end close process, reducing timelines while enhancing the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
- Lead efforts to standardize financial processes across the group, fostering greater integration and cohesion among the businesses.
- Manage and mentor a small finance team, ensuring high performance and professional development within the team.
- Oversee financial operations across several manufacturing sites, ensuring consistent financial reporting and control.
Candidate Requirements:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification is essential.
- Demonstrable experience working in a financial leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop a finance team.
- Track record of delivering improvements in financial control quality and speeding up financial processes.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with the ability to get into the detail when necessary.
