As the Finance Director located at their head office in the West Midlands, you will play a pivotal role within the Senior Leadership team, working alongside the Exec and Operating Boards, the Finance Director will not only be an exceptional accountant and hands-on with the company finances but will also be commercially aware, advising on the best path of growth for the business.

The role of the Finance Director is to lead on all financial and commercial aspects of the business. You will be expected to analyse figures and implement recommendations based on these findings to drive the company’s financial strategy and guiding the company towards incremental growth and long-term success. The role is responsible for assessing the financial performance of the company as well as possible risks and investments.

The Finance Director will lead the finance team through weekly, monthly, and annual reporting, including the annual budget, strategic planning, and audit process, and will champion the model of best and lean practice within back and front office.

The Finance Director is an experienced, reliable professional with a broad knowledge of all accounting, financial, commercial, and business principals. You will be a strategic thinker and an effective leader, who can recommend changes that will improve the company’s financial performance.


For this high-profile Finance Director opportunity in the West Midlands, you must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualified experience. Ideally you will have trained in the profession and now with several years industry experience, including excellent team leadership experience and covering credit control & billing

Must have experience of working at an FD level and being part of an operating board. Leading the finance function in a growing SME is highly desirable and you must have had end to end operational finance responsibility, including invoice discounting and managing all banking relationships

Prior experience in the Recruitment industry is preferable, or as a minimum must have worked in a sales driven environment, preferably with multiple sales channels

A track record of supporting a business through growth and with a good balance of strategic vision and a hands-on operating style. Prior experience of international expansion is highly desirable, as well as working for owner managers

You must be comfortable leading change and capable of influencing at all levels and be able to build strong relationships based on integrity, trust, and respected financial judgement

Ability to operate in a fast-paced, growing environment and meet deadlines, whilst still promoting a culture of continuous improvement and a focus on excellence

An understanding of what a best-in-class finance function looks like. Back-office process improvement/ transformation is highly desirable

Must possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to express opinions clearly, and the ability to present financial matters in a concise and meaningful way to drive performance

Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical capabilities with ability to model new growth scenarios to help the Board make sound financial decisions
