The Role
The role is based in the East Midlands. Reporting to the Group CFO, you will be a key partner to the MD at divisional level and play a critical role in the growth of the biggest division. The appointment is also key to the CFO succession plan.
You will manage the financial performance of the flagship division and provide financial direction and support to the leadership team. Alongside this, you will provide financial management, control, analysis & insight to drive performance, as well as thought leadership and challenge in long-range planning.
You will be responsible for accurate forecasting and budgeting, performance insight, and ensuring that all decision-making is rigorously assessed to optimise performance.
A key focus of the role will be to lead and develop a high-quality finance function, ensuring goals are aligned throughout the team to drive performance and ensure the successful execution of the finance change agenda. You will also take a lead role in managing stakeholder relationships across the Leadership Team, ExCo and externally.
There will be the opportunity to effect real change and to contribute to the direction of the division.
Candidate Profile
For this Finance Director opportunity in the East Midlands, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) from a manufacturing/industrial background with proven experience of operating as a Finance Director in a substantial division.
The role requires a strong relationship builder with personal credibility, and high impact communication and presentation skills, who can work at all levels and influence wider business direction and decisions. It is also important that you can demonstrate the strength of character to challenge, whilst being able to do so in a collegiate and considered manner and be comfortable leading change.
You must have a history of success in commercially focused senior finance roles and ideally a track record of supporting a business through growth. You must also have a good balance of strategic vision and a hands-on operating style.
Flexible/hybrid working will be considered, but a regular presence in the East Midlands and flexibility to travel to other key sites is important.
